LOST BY SEVEN WICKETS

Where did it go wrong? Great to see Clive Lewis back in action and opening the innings after a lengthy absence - but a little rusty - and a slightly shaky start. But Khalid (59), Kamran (45) and Praba the skipper (24*) piled on the runs - a total of 215 off our thirty-five overs - as far as our records go, we have never, ever, lost a game with that kind of score on the board.

And a dream start to their innings - Praba snaps up two quick wickets - Cooke and Alex dismissed without scoring. But then your reporter turned up (OK - blame me - but hey, catches win matches, chaps - young Hamish showed how early on). And the runs just kept coming in what, a flood? - no an avalanche. Morden Parish reached 100 at the end of the twefth over - 20/20 stuff. Another twenty-nine from the next three overs - At twenty overs it's 167-2. And despite a retiral and a late wicket to Will we go down by seven wickets with almost nine overs to spare. Retire to the Sultan to replay how it should have been.

Well batted Khalid - yet another visit to the honours board - and Kamran and Praba too. Extra nets for the bowlers. And well played Morden Parish - outstanding work.
